MC Earthmoving was engaged by Holcim Australia to create access and strip overburden to a new quarrying area at the Leongatha Quarry, that had been closed for two years. The contract was to remove the overburden for the new site adjacent to the old quarry pit, and construct a new haul road between the two locations for hauling of the overburden and the newly extracted rock to the existing crushing location. Initial rehabilitation works were performed in conjunction with the overburden works.
MC Earthmoving had performed quarry works previously with Holcim and we again maintained a good working relationship with them using our comprehensive OHS and environmental systems for the project.
Working within MC's ISO 9001 accreditation system and the high level requirements of Holcim, we were able to seamlessly complete the works within the time line of the contract and hand over the site ready for Holcim to extract rock immediately after competition of the project.
