Tailings Dam, Cobar
Construction of a tailings storage facility, floor extension, and secondary wall lift at the Wonawinta Silver Mine, Cobar NSW. MC Earthmoving effectively extended the Tailings Storage Facility wall height by three metres, simultaneously placing and conditioning an impervious liner, moving over 450,000(bcm).
The variable and extreme weather conditions experienced on this site and the logistics of moving heavy equipment into and away from the works were features of this project and we were justifiably proud of our ability to overcome all obstacles. There were constraints in relation to the construction methodology due to the limited working area, restricted timeline and budget that we overcame to deliver this project successfully.
