MC Earthmoving was contracted by principal contractor Entracon to construct a 100-megalitre water storage facility at Mt Buller in the Victorian Alps commencing in October of 2019, with the earthworks completed by February 2020.
The project consisted of constructing a zoned embankment from material excavated from within the dam footprint. Arduous testing and sorting of suitable material was required to enable the fill structure to be constructed to meet all the filling criteria.
From establishing large pieces of earthmoving equipment to the extremely variable weather conditions and a very compressed construction window. The earthworks component of the construction was completed meeting all requirements that were specified.
